Tributo a la Isla de Todos los Días.

Mantenerse alejado de los tópicos pareciera difícil con ella. Pero si, la Isla de Todos los Días se extiende más allá del malecón en las noches, de los hoteles bañados en lentejuelas y de los juegos de dominó en las esquinas.

Ella es el escenario en dónde las memorias son diariamente resignificadas. Es un misterio envuelto en su gente, en su música, en su cine, en su literatura. Ella es una musa nostálgica que se muestra desnuda solo ante el ojo sensible que repare en ella.

El ¨Nuevo Mundo¨ que se pretende mostrar en este blog es así, dispuesto solo para aquellos que persiguen lo imposible. Descifrar la complexión de Cuba, de su gente, de su historia, es tarea de locos, ¿pero no son acaso esas las empresas más gloriosas?

Para todos aquellos que encuentran refugio en lo extraordinario, se disponen estas páginas.  Nosotros, el equipo de Vedadofilms, ya la hemos visto a través de nuestros lentes y se nos muestra preciosa y tentadora. La Isla de Todos los Días atormenta nuestros pensamientos, por eso siempre buscamos una nueva forma de volver a su orilla para soñar con descifrarla y tal vez, experimentar el efímero contacto con lo irrepetible.

A Tribute to The Island of Every Days

Keeping away from topics would seem a tall order with her. Even if The Island of Every Days extends herself farther than the Malecón at night or those sequin bathed hotels and the domino games in the neighborhood corners.

She is the arena where the memories are daily reprocessed. It’s a mystery draped in her people, in her music, in her literature and in her cinema. She is also a nostalgic muse that only appears naked to the sensible eye that sets on her.

The “New World” will be the blog that purports to display is some of that, recognizable only to those who are chasing the impossible. Deciphering the complexions of Cuba, her people and her history is indeed a task for crazy people but – aren’t the most glorious endeavors exactly that?

To all of you who find refuge in the extraordinaire, here these pages will be. We, the Vedado Films team, already discovered her through our lenses and she has shown herself beautiful and tempting. The Island of Every Days afflicts our thoughts and this is why we keep trying new ways to her shores, dreaming with deciphering and perhaps experiencing the fleeting contact with the unrepeatable.
